Our Wedding

In the summer of 2021, Steph had a layover in Reno, NV for work. She planned to go hiking on this layover but decided against it last minute. She stayed behind at the hotel, which is where Rick was to check out the arcade and sports car on display in the lobby. As Steph was in the lobby buying a muffin, she caught Rick's eye and he knew he had to say hello before he missed his chance. Steph was caught off guard, but there was definitely an instant connection between the two. They talked about many things to get to know each other, and one was about fitness. Steph mentioned that she wanted to go rock climbing in the future, so Rick asked if she'd like to walk to the gym three blocks down to go rock climbing. She said yes and the two spontaneously had their first date instantly after they met.

From this point on, the rest was history. Steph would try to get Reno layovers for work to see Rick, while also flying to see him on her days off. Rick would occasionally visit her in Atlanta, but it wasn't as often since he didn't get free flight benefits like her from work. After the first year of their relationship, Delta discontinued their layovers at Reno which made their long distance relationship even more difficult. The next closest layover was Sacramento, so Rick would drive four hours roundtrip to stay with her at her hotel for the night.

After the second year of their relationship, Rick took the plunge and moved across the country so they could live together in Atlanta. The couple no longer were doing long distance which was incredible. Over the years, they've enjoyed their time together by watching movies on the couch, traveling the world, spending time with family and friends, and trying new cuisines. When it comes to living together, they are a perfect fit because they match each other's effort to make a happy home.

After the third year of their relationship, Rick asked Steph to marry him. It happened one weekend in July when Steph was visiting friends in Charlotte, North Carolina. Rick was planning to join, but surprised her by flying in a day early. She was so excited to see him upon his arrival that she couldn't stop jumping and hugging him, which interrupted him from kneeling twice. He then finally knelt on the third attempt and proposed. The two are very much in love and cannot wait to exchange their vows in front of their closest family and friends on November 15, 2025.
